Former US Attorney General William Barr said that former President Donald Trump is "toast" after being indicted for mishandling classified documents. Barr, who previously worked under Trump, noted that the charges were serious and that even if only half of them were true, Trump was in trouble. He also dismissed claims that Trump was the victim of a witch-hunt, noting that Trump was wrong and had acted irresponsibly by keeping hundreds of classified government documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
Trump has vowed to continue his 2024 run for the White House, even if he is convicted.
