‘It’s eating his remains now’: Russian man gobbled up in a shark attack in Egypt
A Russian man, Vladimir Popov, was killed by a tiger shark while swimming in the Red Sea near the Elysees Dream Beach hotel in Hurghada, Egypt. Witnesses captured footage of the attack, which shows Popov being dragged under the water.
His girlfriend reportedly escaped unharmed. Bystanders attempted to help Popov, but were unsuccessful. Tiger sharks are known for their indiscriminate palate and are second only to great whites in attacking humans. Following the incident, water activities in the area were restricted until Sunday, and the shark responsible was captured and taken for examination.
