Three sisters, Viola Medlin Singletary, Gloria Medlin McCrimmon, and Cheryl Elaine Medlin, were killed in a head-on collision on Highway 690 in Moore County, North Carolina. The deadly crash occurred after a 2023 Kia crossed the center line and collided with the sisters' vehicle, completely destroying it and killing all four occupants. The youngest of the sisters would have celebrated her 64th birthday the next day.
A passenger in the Kia survived the crash but sustained serious injuries. The State Highway Patrol said the investigation is ongoing, but preliminary findings indicate that speeding and reckless driving caused the accident. Relatives will be holding a balloon release to honor one of the sisters on her birthday.
