Hal Sparks is set to play Nelson in the fifth season of "Fuller House," taking over the role originally played by Jason Marsden in "Full House." In the original series, Nelson was D.J. Tanner's ex-boyfriend and a love interest caught in a triangle with another character. The spinoff follows a grown-up D.J. as a recent widow raising her children with the help of her sister and best friend. Marsden clarified on Twitter that it was his decision not to return to the role.
