Three doctors on an Avianca El Salvador flight from Managua, Nicaragua to Miami International Airport helped deliver a premature baby girl in Mexican airspace. The baby was born seven months into her mother's pregnancy and the doctors noticed that she did not have vital signs. Dr. Raquel Rodríguez, a Nicaraguan doctor, performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation while another doctor massaged the baby's heart.
After five minutes, the baby began to breathe on her own and cry. Both the baby and mother were taken to Cancún General Hospital and are said to be in stable condition. The mother thanked well-wishers on Facebook and stated that her daughter is delicate but in God's hands.
